Estepona

Estepona is a popular seaside resort and municipality located on the Costa del Sol, in the province of Málaga, Andalusia, southern Spain.
It is known for its beautiful beaches, lively marina, historical charm, and abundant floral displays throughout its streets, earning it the nickname “Garden of the Costa del Sol.”
HISTORY
Estepona has a long history dating back to prehistoric times, as evidenced by archaeological finds in the region.
During Moorish rule, Estepona was known as Astabbuna and was a fortified settlement with an important agricultural and commercial role.
After the Christian reconquest in the 15th century, Estepona came under Spanish rule and grew into a prosperous fishing port and agricultural center.
