History
Torremolinos began as a small fishing village but rapidly developed into a tourist hotspot during the 1950s and 1960s,
when it became a favorite destination for international travelers, especially from the United Kingdom and other parts of Europe.
It was one of the first places on the Costa del Sol to focus on tourism.

Dutch King’s Day is celebrated here every year in a big way on the square, with performances by Dutch artists,
various stalls selling Dutch products, and the whole of Carihuela turning orange!
